Hello, hello, hello.
I took a step back to really look at what I wanted to improve on in my life. And there are a few. Do you remember my 2020 challenges in my video that I posted in January?
I’m still really excited about it and I want to make sure I’m following through with my goals/resolutions!
So, here is what I’ll be focusing on for the next month to create new, healthy habits for my life:
- Do something active at least once a week
- Wake up at 6 AM every day & start morning routine right away
- Play with cats every day at a set time
- Work on a special project once a week for the month
Let’s go through these really quick.
Do something active at least once a week: Whether it be taking a walk around the block, playing some soccer, going to the gym, etc. I would love to be physically fit again but like the cooking, it has not been a huge priority for me right now. However, I still want it to be in my weekly routine to get my butt off the couch and move around. And, I want to have fun doing it! I’m not a big fan of just going to the gym, so I’d love to switch it up and figure out what I like to do for exercise!
Wake up at 6 AM: I’ve been wanting to do this for awhile. Every morning I would love to wake up right at 6 AM and get my morning started by stretching/doing yoga, washing my face, and brushing my teeth. I want my mornings to be productive so I feel prepared for my work day and excited to keep getting things done! The last couple of days I’ve been going to work I’ve been rushing out the door, and I don’t want to be doing that anymore! Especially as a cat mom of now 2, I want to make sure I’ve got my cats fed and still feel like I have plenty of time to get ready.
Play with cats: Our new kitty is very active and playful. Luna is much more laid back, but when she sees us playing with the new cat, Cora, she always wants to play too. One of my 2020 goals was to play for AT LEAST 10 minutes with Luna every day. This is now more of a necessity with Cora, since she gets too hyper active if we don’t play with her throughout the day. I also want to do it at a set time every day, that way they know when play time is (when both me & Mykle have time to) and when it is time to sleep/eat/rest. I’m hoping this will also help them get along better and play better together!
Work on a special project: I have been doing this pretty well since the beginning of the year. Each month I decided I’ll give myself a fun project to work on or learn for that month. So on the first of each month I make a decision and START something. That way I have more motivation to finish it too. I’m excited to continue learning and creating!
The best way to follow through with your habits is to use SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, Time-Based) & to understand your WHY. Figuring out WHY I want to create these habits and what exactly it is going to do for my life is actually really important to me and how I’ve been maintaining a lot of my goals so far.
What’s your why?
