Sometimes I really just have to tell myself: You can do it all.
I know I have the capabilities to get my work done, get good grades, clean my house, and spend time with my husband. Sometimes, I even have time to get a job and work. The problem is, I don’t always believe that I can do it.
Last night my husband and I went to a concert around 3 hours away from where we live. He had to work this morning, so we had to drive back last night. We were dreading the drive but wanted to go to the show so we knew it would be worth it. We were so nervous because we usually go to bed early, and the show wouldn’t end until 10 or 11. But I kept telling him – I can do it. I have the capability. I’ve done it before, I won’t be tired and we will get home safely.
He didn’t believe me, he thought he would be driving home since I had driven us there.
But guess what? I drove both ways and we were completely safe! I was very awake and he made it to work on time this morning.
I think a lot of what we do is tell ourselves: I don’t have time, I will never get this done, there’s too much to do. And sometimes that’s true. Sometimes we really have too much on our plate. But we can do it! We just have to put our minds to it and think positively about ourselves.
We have the ability to change our lives for the better and be more productive, which in turn gives us more time to spend time with the ones we love.
I’m hoping this gives you a positive start to your week – Monday’s are the worst, right? I actually really like Mondays, they feel like a fresh start and I am happy to get started on all the work I have for the week, so I’m ready to enjoy the weekend by the time it comes around.
